A look back at 2007

By Dan Hamblin

*Stock market headed for a possible recession. - The market has been on pins and needles all year and it doesn't look like things are going to get any better for next year. The housing market is a real drain on the entire market with it's sub-prime mortgages really hurting the economy.

*Dollar is at an all time low. - the US dollar is at an all time low!! Many countries such as Russia, China and Iran are considering dropping the US dollar completely due to its declining value.

*Russian president is dead set on keeping power and its military is more active than ever. - Russia has resumed daily bomber and warship activity. It has withdrawn itself from a treaty that had certain restrictions on the amount of artillery, tanks and combat planes it could possess in certain parts of the country.

*Israel is in negotiations with Palestine, not sure how far that will go. - George W. Bush hosted a meeting in Annapolis, MD last November to initiate peace talks between the Palestinians and Israelis. These peace talks were hopeful at first but now seem to have multiple road blocks coming up, either side seems to be giving in to the other side for the sake of peace.

*EU is the revived Roman Empire with Sarkozy looking to take the lead. – The revived Roman Empire (EU – European Union) is really making progress. The EU will have a president and an even more powerful foreign minister. It looks like Sarkozy may take one of those positions. The EU is made up of 27 countries and is looking to expand.

*Iran is enriching uranium, wants to waste Israel. – Iran is enriching uranium and there is no sign of them slowing down anytime soon, even with current imposed sanctions. Currently Russia is providing fuel for their nuclear reactors. It has been said that by 2009 Iran could have enough uranium to build a nuclear weapon. Why not, they already have the warheads!! This makes Israel very nervous since Iran has vowed to "wipe Israel off the map."

*China's growing economic and military might. – China was the first to announce their economy didn't need the US dollar, their economy is booming and their military is larger than ever.

*Nation ID initiatives. – Currently the UK is in the process of initiating a "National ID card" program. Many countries are looking at this idea and many are resistant to it. I know I am. If it's not an ID card it would be a computer chip that would be implanted in the right hand. This would be necessary to buy/sell or even have a job!
*Global weather changes Earthquakes, too many to count. – There is no questioning this one, this past year we have seem record tsunamis, typhoons, hurricanes and earthquakes.

Did Israel give the Temple Mount to the Palestinians??

By: Dan

It has been reported by a senior Palestinian negotiator that Israel may have given up the Temple Mount as part of the negotiations which originated last week at the Annapolis summit. While speaking to WorldNetDaily, the Palestinian official said that Prime Minister Olmert of Israel has recently all but signed away one of the most holy sites on earth.
The source said that he doesn't think that Olmert is ready to reveal to the Israelis that he has made such a move at this time. The negotiator said the talks consisted of many different topics, which remain unsettled but the Temple Mount was not a sticking point in the negotiations. He said Israel did not dispute the fact that Palestinians want the Mount.
According to this report, the holy site would be surrendered to Egypt, Jordan and the Palestinian Authority upon declaration of a peace treaty.
I can't imagine this being true, I mean would they really give this site up? I am not sure how to take this report since it originates from a Palestinian representative; I kind of doubt their integrity. This report directly contradicts Olmert's original statement saying that the Temple Mount is not being negotiated. I guess only time will tell.
US president George W (I can really mess things up good) Bush is making his first trip to Israel in early January. No other details are available at this time regarding the dates of his trip.

"Annapolis in a nutshell"

By Dan Hamblin

Well it was an eventful two days in Annapolis. There were representatives there from many different nations of the Middle East. They ate, they talked, they took their jabs at America and they went home. Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert stayed an extra day with US President George W. Bush to discuss the Iranian nuclear program.
Both sides want peace between the Palestinians and the Israelis but there are many things to iron out before that can ever be accomplished. During the summit Moscow announced that they too would be interested in holding a summit between the nations as well, sure why not, we can't have the United States as the peace maker; we need power hungry Vladimir Putin to take center stage.
Be sure to check the Russian election results as Putin forces everyone to vote for him as prime minister which is this coming Sunday. (12/02/2007) Many Russian employers are "making sure" their employees cast their vote for the "right" person and have gone as far as to threaten them with their jobs if they vote "wrong".
There are mixed emotions about the Annapolis summit, many feel it was doomed from the beginning but Israel seems optimistic about it. It has already been made perfectly clear by Hamas that regardless of the outcome they will prevail no matter what it takes. I tend to believe that statement with Iran providing the weapons which will most likely contain nuclear weapons very soon.
The plan for now is to have a meeting every two weeks between Palestine and Israel to get the talks going. Bush has agreed to intervene as much as possible to make sure he makes large mess of this situation as only he can do. (ie. Iraq) Folks, this could very well be the 7 year treaty coming here. Israel has made it clear that there will be no negotiations about Jerusalem, it will remain the capital of Israel and will in no way be changed by the treaty. Let's sit back and watch these revelations unfold, this is happening now in our generation. These are the last days.

Welcome to the Bush / Putin peace summits!!

By Dan Hamblin

The recent peace summit in Annapolis has a lengthy guest list. A lot of delegates from the Middle East are in the US to discuss Israel. What is interesting to me is that Iran was not on the list. I mean if we want peace, we want that lunatic of a president that Iran has to quit threatening to wipe Israel off the map. If he keeps saying that, there can be no peace. This summit consists of the same guys that are always bickering back and forth to each other like a kindergarten class room. They already dislike each other, spending two days in an office plotting how to kill each other when they get home isn't going to work; not one of them wanting to negotiate for the sake of their own people.
I have a theory here I want to point out something real quick. Bush wants Iran because he thinks they are going to build nukes, which they probably are. Iran wasn't on the invite list to this conference. Well let's see, if we want to coerce people into doing what we want, we keep the other party out of the mix. It's obvious; Bush wants allies to go into Iran to look for nukes; just like he did in Iraq.
Ok, now our buddy Putin says he will host a conference after the Annapolis summit. Yeah, like Israel wants to go to Russia? They better fly there in the best fighter jet they have loaded with ammunition just in case they need to make a quick get a-way. We all know Russia and Iran are oil buddies. Most of Russia's artillery can be traced to Iran as well. I have said it to everyone and I say it again, WATCH OUT FOR PUTIN.
There has been war in the Middle East for generations. There never has been peace and any peace that may come will be a false peace. The militant group Hamas has already vowed to take matters into their own hands, equipped with ammunition from Iran. An agreement signed by Israeli and Palestinian leaders would need ratification by their respective parliaments, and Hamas still controls the Palestinian parliament. It's going to get messy folks.

Bahai faith increases

Bahai faith believes that Persian-born prophet Bahuallah, who died in Israel, brought a message of unity, equality and world federation to save mankind from the plagues of the modern world. Apparently this is one of the fastest growing religions in the world today. They are using a holy mountain in Israel as their headquarters. These people believe in the one world concept. They believe there should be one world leader, one world military and all nations to lay down their weapons. This type of belief is what will bring about the end. (This reminds me of the left behind movie, Nicholai Carpathia sound familiar?) This religion is less than 170 years old and has around 5,000,000 believers. It's this type of religion that the antichrist is going to establish during the tribulation. One of the things to look for in the end are false prophets and false religions.
This is just one of the false religions in the world today. Their numbers are growing by leaps and bounds. Don't get caught up in the hype, anytime you see these ask yourself one question, where is their savior that died on the cross? You won't find one. Also try to find their 'founding prophet' alive today, you won't find that either.

Earthquakes, Pestilence, Weird Weather

On Wednesday Chile was hit with an earthquake with a magnitude of 7.7, leaving 15,000 people homeless, 150 injured, and 2 dead. The earthquake destroyed 4,000 houses, a local hospital, blocking roads, crushing cars, and knocking out power.

According to the USGS major aftershocks rocked the region Thursday, including one with a magnitude of 6.8, and one of a magnitude of a 6.2.There have been 15 earthquakes in the last two days with a magnitude of a 5.0 or greater.

We are seeing more and more diseases. Some of these are old diseases with new strains. They have somehow mutated. Let's look at ad14, it is a mutated form of a common cold virus. Adenoviruses usually cause respiratory infections that aren't considered lethal, but this virus has caused 10 deaths in the last 18 months. A new variant has caused at least 140 illnesses in New York, Oregon, Washington and Texas, according to a report issued by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

According to a Yahoo news report, Dr. John Su, an infectious diseases investigator with the CDC said,"What really got people's attention is these are healthy young adults landing in the hospital and, in some cases, the ICU,"
Ad14 was first identified in 1955, and in 1969 was blamed for illnesses in military stationed in Europe, but since then it has rarely been seen. Now it seems to be growing more common.

Sexual diseases are on the rise again. Over one million reported cases of chlamydia were reported in the United States last year — the most ever reported for a sexually transmitted disease, federal health officials said. Gonorrhea has hit a record high with a new "super bug" version resistant to antibiotics. Syphilis infections rose for the first time in 15 years.

Britain faces possible flooding along its east coast due to a storm surge in the North Sea, creating waves only seen once in 20 years, the government and weather experts warned Thursday.
A cyclone ripped through southwestern Bangladesh Thursday night. The velocity of the wind was 145 to 155 miles per hour. Thousands of tin and bamboo homes have been destroyed, along with power outages. They are expecting the damage to be severe.

Cyclones, violent tornadoes, floods, drought, earthquakes, diseases, all seem to be increasing. In Matthew 24:7,8, Jesus said "and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows." The NIV puts it this way, "There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains."
Most of us understand birth pains. When a women goes into labor her pains start off slow with a little cramping or slight pain. The closer it gets to the baby being born, the pain gets worse and the contractions are closer together. Before she knows it the pain is steady and severe, shortly there after the baby is born. This is the example Jesus used...birth pains...labor pains, He knew man could relate to that.
We need to look at all the signs, we are in hard labor, the Lord is coming soon.

Crowns in Heaven

There's five crowns mentioned in the New Testament that believers will receive for various kinds of faithfulness in this life.

1. Crown of life - Rev. 2:10; James 1:12 - This is the martyr's crown - This crown is given to those that died as a martyr for Jesus. This is a blessed crown to win.

Also, This crown is given to those that suffer for Christ.

2. Crown of glory - 1 Peter 5:4 - This crown is given to those who faithfully feed the sheep.

3. Crown of righteousness - 2 Tim. 4:8 - this crown is given to those who are eagerly expecting the appearing of Jesus. This crown is mine! I know I'm going to get this crown - for sure! It may be the only crown I receive, but I can say with Paul "I love His appearing." So this is the crown that is given to those who "love His appearing."

4. Crown of rejoicing - 1 Thess. 2:19; Phil. 4:1 - This is the soul winner crown for those who lead people to faith in Jesus.

5. Incorruptible crown - 1 Cor. 9:24-25 - This crown is given to those who faithfully run the course.

We not only will receive crowns in Heaven, but rewards too.

1 Corinthians 3:12-15 "Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

This is the Bema Seat or judgement seat of Jesus, that every believer will stand before. The believer's works will be judged here, not their sins, for the sins of the believer were already judged in Christ at Calvary, and "there is now no judgement to them which are in Christ Jesus," Rm. 8:1.

At the judgement seat of Jesus, the believer will give an account of his or her works done here on the earth since accepting Christ as Savior. Just to clarify this is not a judgement of sins, but of the works done here on this earth.

So, not only will we receive crowns, but also rewards. Some believe this will take place in the air when we meet Jesus, others believe it occurs at the death of the believer, while some believe it occurs during the tribulation. Reguardless of when it happens it is something that will take place for all believers.

Why am I writing about this now? I feel it's important that every Christian understands the importance of this. Not because we will receive crowns or rewards, but that we will have crowns to throw at the feet of Jesus. Hallelujah, I want crowns to throw at the feet of my Lord and show Him how much I appreciate all that He has done for me.

The time is running short, we need to race the good race. So whatever you do, do it to the glory of God. Col. 3:17.

This is for my Dad

The Boston Red Sox won their second World Series in four years. Sorry folks, but this is for my Dad. He was a faithful Red Sox fan until he went to be with the Lord. He watched them play every game. He never lost faith faith in them.
I remember watching the Red Sox get so close then make foolish mistakes, I would say something stupid and my Dad would jump to their defense. He loved the Red Sox.
If my Dad was here he would be so proud of his home team.
Thank You Red Sox! We Love You!

Revelation 13? Implantable Chip

Implantable chips seem to be the in thing these days. According to a news story, 200 Alzheimer patients living near West Palm Beach, Florida will be implanted with a VeriChip that is part of a 2 year study. This will provide health care workers with immediate access to medical records. So far 90 Alzheimer patients have had the chip implanted.
Having your children implanted with VeriChip… This would help you keep track of them in case they were abducted, lost, run away from home, hurt or injured, their medical information would be readily available.
The Baja Beach Club in Barcelona, Spain is offering people signing up for VIP membership the choice between an RFID chip, (radio frequency identification), and a normal card. VIP members can reserve a table, jump the entrance queues, and use the clubs VIP lounge.
The original VeriChip was unveiled immediately after 9-11. It is similar to the pet identification chips. The VeriChip is about the size of a grain of rice and is injected under the skin. It can be read by a hand-held scanner or by the implantee walking through a “portal” scanner. Information can be wirelessly written to the chip, which contains a unique 10-digit identification number.
According to a WorldNetDaily article “The objective of this technology is to bring an ID system to a global level that will destroy the need to carry ID documents and credit cards.
Ahhh…the great deceiver at his best. It all looks so good on the surface. Each person implanted with a chip has their own identification number. A swipe of a scanner could reveal vital information in an emergency. It could locate a missing loved one through GPS. It is much more convenient then cash or credit cards, just swipe your hand.I believe that this is a forerunner of Revelation 13:16-18. ‘16And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:17And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.18Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.
Lord Jesus, come quickly!

What is the rapture?

The rapture is the blessed hope of Christians. It is the "caught up" in the "clouds" to be with the Lord forever. This will be a physical disappearance, "in a moment, in a twinkling of an eye." Those who are raptured will be changed from a "corruptible body" to an "incorruptible" body. A new glorious body, never sick, without blemish, without sin, to live forever and ever with Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, 1 Corinthians 15:51-58.

There are 5 theories on when this will occur.

Pre-trib- The rapture will occur before the 7-year tribulation period.

Mid-trib - The rapture will occur at mid point of the tribulation.

Post-trib-The Rapture will occur at the end of the Tribulation right before the second coming of Christ back to earth; believers will be raptured up to meet Christ in the air and then will return immediately with Him back to the earth.

The partial rapture - Only the faithful, devoted believers will be raptured before the tribulation, the rest of the believers will be left behind to go through the tribulation.

Pre-Wrath - The rapture will take place 3/4 of the way into the tribulation, when the wrath of God begins to be poured out on the world.

I believe in a pre-tribulation rapture for many reasons.
1.The rapture is our "blessed hope." It is to be a comfort and blessing to believers, Titus 2:3.
2. We are told in the New Testament that the rapture is imminent, it could happen at anytime, 1 Thessalonians 1:9-10; 1 Corinthians 1:7; 16:22; Titus 2:3; Matthew 24:44
3. The Lord promised that believers are "delivered from the wrath to come" 1 Thessalonians 1:10; 5:9; Revelation 3:10
4. The anti-christ can not be revealed until the Holy Spirit be taken out of the world. 2 Thessalonians 2:6-7.
5. The church is not mentioned in the book of Revelation after chapter 3. In Revelation 4:1 "After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter. This is believed to be representing the church.

The rapture is a wonderful promise, a blessed hope given to us.
