Did Israel give the Temple Mount to the Palestinians??

By: Dan

It has been reported by a senior Palestinian negotiator that Israel may have given up the Temple Mount as part of the negotiations which originated last week at the Annapolis summit. While speaking to WorldNetDaily, the Palestinian official said that Prime Minister Olmert of Israel has recently all but signed away one of the most holy sites on earth.
The source said that he doesn't think that Olmert is ready to reveal to the Israelis that he has made such a move at this time. The negotiator said the talks consisted of many different topics, which remain unsettled but the Temple Mount was not a sticking point in the negotiations. He said Israel did not dispute the fact that Palestinians want the Mount.
According to this report, the holy site would be surrendered to Egypt, Jordan and the Palestinian Authority upon declaration of a peace treaty.
I can't imagine this being true, I mean would they really give this site up? I am not sure how to take this report since it originates from a Palestinian representative; I kind of doubt their integrity. This report directly contradicts Olmert's original statement saying that the Temple Mount is not being negotiated. I guess only time will tell.
US president George W (I can really mess things up good) Bush is making his first trip to Israel in early January. No other details are available at this time regarding the dates of his trip.
